Properties and
application:
Comfrey gelly
acts mostly through the allantoin which is excellent cell
growth promoter. It stimulates wound healing, renewal of
broken bone tissue, and tendon tissue damaged by the
strains and sprains. This is possible by the fast diffusion of
allantoin through the skin and
surrounding
tissues. The comfrey gelly enables fast removal of bruises
by hemolysis of red blood cells in the damaged tissue. For
healing of wounds, skin ulcers and varicose veins, very
important is the so called "plaster" effect of tonifying
affected area, by the various mucous constituents, tannins,
and essential oils , while allantoin prevents scarf formation
promoting the fast renewal of skin epitelial cells. Geranium Bourbon and
Clary sage are beneficial as a phlebotonics, while German chamomile acts as an
antiinflammatory agent and cicatrizant.
